To commemorate its 70thanniversary of making sports cars, Jaguar has built two rally versions of its F-Type Convertible.
Both of the convertibles are fitted with the 2.0-litre Ingenium four-cylinder engine that develops 296bhp, while the cars have been specially modified to comply with FIA specifications.
With uprated brakes and suspension for off-road driving, both models are also fitted with a protective rollcage, race seats with six-point harnesses, a bonnet mounted light bar and fire extinguisher system.
The design of the F-Type is inspired by the recent Chequered Flag Limited Edition, with red and black detailing to match the white livery, as well as 20-inch gloss black alloys and gloss black detailing.
Ian Callum, director of design at Jaguar, said: “The opportunity to design a rally car doesn’t come along very often so I was fascinated to see how we could take our modern day sports car to a similar character.
“These models are a fitting tribute to the XK 120 and all the great Jaguar sports cars since its reveal 70 years ago, including the latest F-TYPE Chequered Flag Limited Edition.”

These two rally editions have been built to celebrate the XK 120 from 1948, which won three consecutive Alpine Rallies without incurring a single penalty point at the hands of Ian Appleyard and also won the RAC and Tulip Rallies.
Since then, Jaguar models have won at the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race and other competitions, while the production sports cars went from strength to strength – with models such as the E-Type, XJ220 and F-Type becoming iconic models.
