Splash of colour for exclusive new Mazda 2 Red Edition

Mazda has unveiled an exclusive limited-run version of its Mazda 2 supermini, the new Mazda 2 Red Edition.

Mazda has unveiled a new limited-run version of its Mazda 2 supermini, called the Red Edition and limited to just 400 cars here in the UK.

Designed to make the stylish Mazda 2 even more attractive, the Red Edition offers plenty of equipment in addition to its stand-out appearance and exclusive exterior touches.

Available in either Snowflake White or Black Mica finishes, the Red Edition stands out from the standard model with unique red accents on the mirror caps, rear spoiler and the rear underskirt.

Metallic paint, unique red accents

Enhancing the Mazda 2’s sporty design, buyers can also choose to complement the contrasting red exterior parts with 15-inch dark gunmetal alloy wheels for an additional £300.

Peter Allibon, Mazda UK’s sales director, said: “With free-of-charge metallic paint and its striking styling enhancements, the Mazda2 Red Edition is a colourful addition to the Mazda2 range, that I’m sure will be popular with younger buyers.”

Inside, the red theme continues with red cloth trim on the seats, plus red door trim inserts and exclusive red and white panelling on the dashboard for a splash of colour to brighten up the cabin.

Priced from £14,995

Given that the Mazda 2 Red Edition is based on the popular SE-L Nav trim, it gets equipment which includes a seven-inch touchscreen, sat-nav and Mazda’s intuitive rotary dial control.

Power comes courtesy of the 89bhp version of Mazda’s 1.5-litre SKYACTIV-G petrol engine, which can return up to 62.7mpg on the combined cycle with just 105g/km of CO2.

The new Mazda 2 Red Edition is due to go on sale in the UK this September, with prices for the limited-edition supermini starting from £14,995.
