Subaru Levorg estate pricing confirmed

Subaru has announced specification and pricing details for the Levorg Sport Tourer, an all-new family estate car. It will go on sale in Britain at the end of September, starting from £27,495.

The Levorg is considered by Subaru to be a spiritual successor to the Legacy estate and it will be sold alongside another estate car, the off-road focused Outback. Like the Legacy, the new Levorg is based on the same platform as the Subaru Impreza and even has similar styling, particularly at the front.

For British customers, the Subaru Levorg will be available in just one trim and specification from launch, called GT. The estate also uses four-wheel drive as standard.

Under the bonnet is a 1.6-litre turbocharged Boxer petrol engine, mated to a Lineartronic CVT automatic gearbox. This engine is all-new and replaces the 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated unit used for the Legacy.

The Levorg can cover the 0-62mph sprint in 8.9 seconds and records a combined fuel economy figure of 40mpg. CO2 emissions meanwhile are rated at 164g/km.

Inside, the Levorg offers 522 litres of boot space as standard, which is a small amount less than the Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer and Ford Mondeo estate. Fold down the second row of seats and load capacity increases to 1,446 litres.

Standard equipment for the Levorg from launch includes automatic LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone air conditioning and a rear parking camera. An infotainment and navigation system with a seven-inch touchscreen is also standard.

Giving drivers a clearer view of their surroundings, the Levorg also comes as standard with the Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection system (SRVD). This combines Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The latter feature detects vehicles passing behind when reversing out of a parking space.
