Suzuki Celerio adds new derivatives

The Suzuki Celerio city car range has been expanded with the launch of two new derivatives, including Dualjet and Auto Gear Shift models.

Like the initial launch derivatives, the Celerio Dualjet model uses a 1.0-litre petrol engine. The engine for the Dualjet version is more efficient, however, recording 78.4mpg combined and a CO2 output of just 84g/km. That’s compared to 65.7mpg and 99g/km for the rest of the range.

One difference that makes the Dualjet more efficient is the inclusion of stop-start engine technology which saves fuel when the car is stationary. The new Celerio Dualjet is on sale now from £8,499. That’s £500 more than the starting price for the original SZ3 trim model.

Suzuki adds that the Celerio Dualjet is the most efficient new car on sale for less than £10,000.

The Auto Gear Shift (AGS) derivative of the Celeiro is available for the top of the range SZ4 trim and swaps the standard five-speed gearbox with an automatic version.

Unlike more conventional automatic gearboxes, the Celerio’s Auto Gear Shift does not result in loss of fuel efficiency or extra CO2. The Celerio AGS derivative therefore emits 99g/km and maintains the offer of free Vehicle Excise Duty.

The Celerio AGS also has a low speed ‘creep’ driving feature, which allows the car to move in gear without the accelerator being applied. This is designed best for slow traffic and parking situations.

Pricing for the Celerio SZ4 Auto Gear Shift is set at £9,799, which is £800 more than the manual equivalent.
