Tesla Model X crashes in Autopilot incident

Tesla’s Autopilot feature has been involved in another incident, resulting in a driving veering off the road.

Another Tesla vehicle has reportedly veered off the road in Montana while using its Autopilot feature, according to CNNMoney.

The car’s driver, identified by their last name Pang, is said to have been driving their Tesla Model X on a winding canyon road driving at around 55mph in the middle of the night. The road apparently did not have a defined shoulder, which is said to have lead the car to leave the surface of the road and clatter into several wooden posts.

Pang reportedly did not have his hands on the wheel of the car and according to Tesla, did not put his hands on the wheel even when prompted to do so by the Autopilot feature.

Thankfully the incident left the driver and their passenger unharmed, but left the Model X missing a wheel.

This Autopilot incident follows a fatal accident involving Tesla’s semi-autonomous feature, which is currently undergoing investigation.
