The new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is now on sale

The firm’s flagship supercar costs £335,000

Mercedes has announced that its new AMG-GT Black Series is on sale now, with prices starting from £335,000.

The firm’s flagship AMG GT supercar was only unveiled last week as the firm’s sixth model in the ‘Black Series’ run, following on from models like the CLK 63 Black Series and SLS Black Series. They’re designed for those wanting extreme track performance from a road car, and are produced with assistance from Mercedes’ motorsport division.

Utilising a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine, this is one of the firm’s most powerful road cars to date – producing 720bhp and 800Nm of torque. That allows it to sprint to 60mph in just three seconds, with a claimed top speed of 201mph. Design tweaks and weight-saving also make this the lightest GT model to date.

It features 19-inch wheels at the front, and 20-inch at the rear, along with ceramic brakes, an AMG Performance exhaust system and the option of nine AMG Magma Beam paint colours.

In terms of styling, it takes cues from the AMG GT3 racing car – including its grille, carbon-fibre front wings and wheel arch louvres, along with an adjustable front diffuser.

It comes as standard with the AMG Track Pack, which includes a titanium roll-bar and four-point seat belts, but for those wanting something a little more refined, a Comfort Pack is available – this replacing the bucket seats with heated sports seats.

The AMG-GT Black Series is available to buy now, with the first cars expected in the autumn.
