Top Gear’s reasonably priced Kia Cee’d is FOR SALE

BBC Top Gear’s former reasonably priced car, the Kia Cee’d hatchback, is up for sale on eBay, with its current bid standing at just £310 (correct at time of writing).

The reasonably priced Kia Cee’d has shepherded a long list of A-list celebrities around the show’s infamously difficult racetrack as part of its “Star in a reasonably priced car” feature, including Tom Cruise, Alice Cooper and current Top Gear presenter, Matt LeBlanc.

The reasonably priced car section of the Top Gear show has become one of the its most famous over the years as it sees celebrities compete head-to-head in setting the quickest lap times in what is essentially an average car.

Aside to the Kia Cee’d, other reasonably priced Top Gear cars have included the Chevrolet Lacetti, Suzuki Liana and Vauxhall Astra.

The reasonably priced Kia Cee’d up for sale is a 2010 reg with just 7,150 miles on the clock. It uses a 1.6-litre petrol engine and is kitted out with bucket seats and a roll cage – something that was installed to protect the celebrities who were whizzing it around the track.

Despite its ‘reasonably priced’ name tag, the eBay description states that the car “drives and feels like a new car” and that “The tyres have loads of tread left, and the brakes are all good too”.

With a current bid of £310, the reserve has not been met on the reasonably priced Kia Cee’d, so it is anyone’s guess as it how much the second-hand Top Gear motor could go for. If previous sales of reasonably priced Top Gear cars are anything to go by however, you can expect this Kia Cee’d to go for a hefty price tag - the reasonably priced Vauxhall Astra sold for a whopping £18,000.

Since the show was revamped with a new line-up of presenters, with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May going off to create Amazon Prime’s The Grand Tour, a new version of the reasonably priced car section has been introduced called "Stars in a Rallycross Car".
