Toyota announces pricing for Corolla range

The twelfth generation of the model will be coming to the UK next year and will be available in both hatchback and Touring Sport guises.

Toyota has announced pricing for the Corolla hatchback and Touring Sports estate.

After 12 years away from the European market, the Corolla nameplate returns in its 12th iteration and is available with one of three powertrains – two of which are hybrid.

The two self-charging hybrids come in the form of a 1.8-litre petrol with electric system and an all-new 2.0-litre 178bhp option with electric drive – both of which can employ zero-emission electric driving and are paired to a CVT automatic transmission. A 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol option is also available, which is paired to a six-speed manual transmission.

Customers get to choose one of four trim levels – Icon, Icon Tech, Design and Excel – with the top-spec option only available with hybrid power.

From the base Icon spec, the Corolla comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, heated front seats, Toyota Touch 2 with an eight-inch touchscreen, a reversing camera, DAB radio and dual-zone climate control, although that’s only for the 1.8-litre hybrid.

For the Tech version, Icon models come with satellite navigation, a seven-inch information display in the instrument binnacle, parking sensors and intelligent park assist.

Models further up to list come with leather upholstery, LED fog lights, larger alloy wheels, sport seats and keyless entry.

The Corolla is available with the second generation of Toyota Safety Sense, which includes pre-collision detection, adaptive cruise control, lane trace assist, road sign assist and automatic high beam.

Prices start from £21,300 for the Corolla hatchback, while the Touring Sports version starts from £22,570 – both of which are fitted with the 1.2-litre petrol engine.
