Toyota announces pricing for Yaris Y20 and GR Sport models

The limited edition Y20 trim and racing-inspired GR Sport options are offered from £17,465 and £19,835 respectively.

Toyota has confirmed the pricing for two new special versions of the Yaris supermini – the Y20 and GR Sport.

A limited-run Y20 with a gold and grey finish will only be delivered to 100 UK customers and celebrates the model’s 20th anniversary, while the GR Sport commemorates the success of the company’s Gazoo Racing team and is inspired by the Yaris GRMN hot hatchback.

The Y20 trim level, however, will become a mainstay in the Yaris line-up and customers will be able to choose from four dual-tone finishes for the bodywork. The trim will also be fitted with 16-inch grey alloy wheels, dark grey fog lights and Y20 badging.

The cabin is fitted with dark grey trim on the steering wheel and centre console, with satin finish surrounds used for the gear lever, air vents and speakers. Grey upholstery is used on the sports seats and finished with silver detailing and a Y20 logo.

The GR Sport model comes with modified underpinnings to provide better handling and steering response – with Toyota fitting Sachs Performance shock absorbers and a solid anti-roll bar. It also sits 15mm lower than the standard Yaris.

Toyota also fits 17-inch black alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tyres, black styling details on the roof, spoiler, grille and mirror housings, while tinted glass is also placed in the rear windows.

Inside, the GR Sport comes with Ultrasuede upholstery, a three-spoke steering wheel, a TFT information screen and silver contrast detailing. It’s fitted with the 1.5-litre petrol hybrid powertrain.

The Y20 models start from £17,465, while the GR Sport is priced from £19,835.
