Toyota RAV4 adds safety and luxury kit updates

Toyota has confirmed some updates for its RAV4 SUV for 2017. The changes include more safety kit for the majority of trims and more accessibility to luxury gadgets.

The Safety Sense pack is now standard for all trims apart from the entry-level RAV4 Active. For those who go for the RAV4 Active, the Safety Sense pack is still available as a £1,060 option.

With this pack the RAV4’s safety is enhanced with the likes of adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, road sign recognition and sensor-based autonomous emergency braking.

Something else that is now standard for all RAV4 models apart from the entry-level Active is satellite navigation with free map updates.

The Business Edition, Business Edition Plus and Icon models add ambient lighting for the cabin and parking sensors as new standard features. Business Edition Plus is now also available with Toyota’s 2.0-litre D-4D diesel engine combined with front-wheel drive, priced from £26,980.

Range-topping RAV4 Excel adds voice recognition and 3D mapping functions for the media-nav system.

Other add-ons for Excel models, which start from £29,850, include black roof lining and a memory seat for the driver. The Excel version can also be enhanced further with a £1,195 Premium Pack, which includes a powered tailgate and a blind spot monitor.

The updated Toyota RAV4 range also offers new two exterior colours called Silver Blade and Phantom Blue.
