Mercedes-Benz has announced UK pricing and specification for the CLS premium coupe that was unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show last week.
Only available in AMG Line trim, the CLS starts from £57,510 – with Mercedes offering three engine choices.
Two diesel units – the 350 d and 400 d in-line six-cylinder engines – and a single petrol option – the biturbo 3.0-litre 450 – which all come with 4Matic all-wheel drive as standard. All models are electronically limited to a top speed of 155mph.
The 350 d produces 282bhp and 600Nm of torque, while having a claimed fuel economy of 48.7mpg. The 400 d does similarly well with 47.9mpg, while producing 335bhp and 700Nm.
With the 450 petrol option, drivers will get 361bhp at their disposal in conjunction with a mild-hybrid system. The EQ Power setup includes 48-volt inline generator to add an extra 22bhp and 250Nm of torque to the 500Nm already delivered by the engine. Fuel consumption stands at a combined 36.2mpg, while it can sprint to 60mph in 4.8 seconds.
Equipment fitted with AMG Line includes 19-inch alloy wheels, reversing camera, leather upholstery, a dual-screen cockpit display – which includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display – and agility suspension control. Folding rear seats and ambient lighting are also standard.
Mercedes also offers the Premium Plus package for a £3,895 additional sum, which adds keyless go, electronically adjustable seats and steering wheel, Burmester surround sound system, 360o camera, Comand online infotainment system and sliding sunroof.
Other packages available are the Comfort package and driver assistance plus, which are on offer for £2,495 and £1,695 respectively.
Order books for the CLS are open now, with deliveries beginning in summer 2018.
