UK revealed as Lamborghini’s third biggest market in 2017

The Audi-owned Italian supercar manufacturer has revealed sales figures for 2017, with the UK highlighted as having the third-most global sales.

The UK has been revealed as Lamborghini’s third largest market in 2017, with 353 cars sold on British shores.

The Audi-owned Italian supercar manufacturer delivered 3,815 cars to customers last year. Its biggest market was the USA with 1,095 units sold, while Japan followed in second with 411.

Lamborghini now has 145 dealerships in 50 countries, and saw a 10 per cent sales increase over 2016, when it sold 3,457 cars. It has also tripled sales since 2010, when it shifted a comparatively low 1,302 units.

Currently available in the manufacturer’s line-up is the ‘entry-level’ Huracan supercar and the Aventador hypercar, in various guises. 2018 will also see the introduction of the Urus SUV, which Lamborghini expects will increase the company’s sales immensely.

Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Lamborghini, said: “In 2017, Lamborghini has proven to be in consistently good shape. Delivering another all-time high for the seventh consecutive year confirms the sustainability of our product and commercial strategy.

“We also significantly increased brand awareness, especially with the young generation, proved by the success of our social media channels. This is a real team achievement and I would like to thank the whole Lamborghini team for the work done.

“These accomplishments are all the more remarkable as we mastered an unprecedented double challenge: preparing for new models in our super sports car range, while simultaneously doubling production capacities at our headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, heralding a quantum leap in our product portfolio.”
