Updated Hyundai i30 pricing and specs announced

Hyundai has revealed pricing and specification details for its new and updated i20 hatchback range.

Pricing and specification details have been announced for the updated Hyundai i30 range, which gets a facelift and a brand-new Turbo specification. Pricing for the updated i30 begins at £15,195 for the five-door hatchback version and at £16,895 for the Tourer estate.

Styling changes for the i30 range include Hyundai’s current trademark hexagonal grille, which adorns other current models from the manufacturer, like the latest i10. The cabin, meanwhile, has been upgraded with better quality materials and some new gadgets.

Equipment on the standard ‘S’ trim model includes Bluetooth connectivity, keyless entry, air conditioning and a Radio/CD/MP3 player.

The standard trim is followed by SE, SE Nav and Premium. The SE trim features 16-inch alloy wheels and automatic cruise control, while the SE Nav adds satellite navigation and a rear view camera. The Premium trim brings 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights and dual zone climate control.

Engines available for the updated i30 include a new 1.4-litre petrol unit with 98bhp and a 1.6-litre petrol with 120bhp. There’s also a 1.6-litre diesel unit that can deliver 108bhp or 134bhp. The 1.6-litre diesel can be mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, which is all-new from Hyundai. The i30 with the 108bhp diesel unit and new transmission is the most efficient in the range, recording 78.4mpg combined and CO2 emissions of just 94g/km.

The all-new i30 Turbo is available exclusively to the hatchback body style and looks set to rival the Peugeot 308 GT. While all other versions of the i30 hatchback have five-doors only, the i30 Turbo can be specified with just three doors instead. The Turbo is priced from £22,495, or £22,995 for the five-door version.

The engine used in Turbo models is a new 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol unit boasting 183bhp. This gives the i30 a 0-60mph sprint time of eight seconds. The Turbo also features a sports bodykit, sports suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels and artificial leather sports seats as standard.

The refreshed Hyundai i30 range goes on sale in Britain from today and will arrive in showrooms from March.
