Updated Skoda Kodiaq now available to blue light fleets

Facelifted seven-seat SUV extends brand’s partnership with emergency services

Skoda has announced that its updated Kodiaq SUV is now available to the emergency services.

The brand’s largest SUV has proven a popular choice with various blue-light fleets across the UK, and Skoda is hoping that will continue with its facelifted version. The new 2021 car benefits from revised styling, cleaner petrol and diesel engines and more in the way of safety technology.

Inside, changes to the cabin aim ‘long shifts behind the wheel as comfortable as possible’ according to Skoda, while the sheer size of the Kodiaq will come in handy. It’s the largest model sold by the firm, and features loads of interior space and a boor measuring up to an impressive 835 litres.

Like the majority of Skoda’s range, the Kodiaq can be fitted out by the brand’s bespoke emergency services division. Changes include 360-degree lighting and the full integration of the emergency services’ communication platform within the main existing touchscreen. Skoda also says that bespoke requirements can be catered for by its approved network of converters.

There are said to be hundreds of Kodiaqs in use by the emergency services across the UK, including 50 examples being used by the Police Service of Northern Ireland and 30 serving as emergency responder vehicles by the West Sussex Fire and Rescue service.

The updated Skoda Kodiaq is on sale now, with prices starting from £28,185. First deliveries are expected shortly.
