Upgraded Isuzu D-Max coming this spring

The Isuzu D-Max is getting updated in Britain during this spring, with the main difference being a new, more efficient and more refined turbocharged diesel engine.

Isuzu has revealed details on its updated Isuzu D-Max pick-up truck, which will launch in the UK during this spring. Customers can register their interest in this vehicle now, which serves as one of the more affordable rivals next to the likes of the Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi L200 and Volkswagen Amarok.

One of the biggest changes for the updated Isuzu D-Max is an all-new engine under the bonnet. The 2.5-litre turbodiesel used up until now is getting replaced by a smaller 1.9-litre turbodiesel. It produces 162bhp and up to 360Nm of torque.

While the new engine does not represent a step up in terms of power, it is more economical and more refined than the larger diesel used in current D-Max trucks. Another key benefit is that the new engine meets Euro 6 emission standards without the need for the addition of AdBlue.

Crucially the D-Max with the 1.9-litre diesel retains the 3.5 tonne towing capacity and 1 tonne payload it has boasted before.  The updated D-Max also retains selectable four-wheel drive and a differential lock as standard.

Pricing for the updated Isuzu D-Max is unconfirmed but it’s likely to start from approximately £19,000 when picking from the Utility range.
