Vauxhall Viva prices and specs confirmed

Vauxhall has announced full pricing and specification details for its all-new five-door city car, the Viva, which arrives in showrooms this summer. The Viva range will feature two trim levels and just one engine and pricing will start at £7,995.

The Viva is the long-awaited successor to the Agila and will become Vauxhall’s new entry-level model.

The two trims for the Vauxhall Viva are called SE and SL, with the former representing the standard trim level. There will however be Air Con and ecoFLEX versions of the SE trim, meaning that from launch the Viva will offer customers four specifications to choose.

All specifications use a 1.0-litre petrol engine which is hooked up to a standard five-speed manual gearbox and produces 74bhp. For all specifications except the SE ecoFLEX version, the Viva records a combined fuel economy of 62.8mpg and emits 104g/km.

The SE ecoFLEX, which is priced from £8,170, is the most efficient in the Viva line-up, returning 65.7mpg on the official combined fuel cycle and emitting just 99g/km in CO2, meaning free Vehicle Excise Duty.

Standard equipment for all Vauxhall Viva models includes cruise control, daytime running lights, lane departure warning, electric front windows, an AM/FM radio and electric and heated door mirrors. As the name suggests, the SE Air Con version adds air conditioning to the equipment list. The SE ecoFLEX version adds a front lip spoiler, an extended rear spoiler with LED brake light and ultra-low rolling resistance tyres.

The range-topping SL trim version of the Viva, which costs £9,495, comes with everything the cheaper specifications offer plus additional luxuries. These include electronic climate control, 15-inch alloy wheels, a leather-covered steering wheel and Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

Optional extras for the Vauxhall Viva include rear parking sensors, an electric glass sliding sunroof and a Winter Pack which adds heated seats and a heated steering wheel.
