Why is Twitter getting rid of Vine and when is Vine closing down?

Twitter haven’t given an exact reason for why Vine is closing down, or an exact date of when it is going to happen. Twitter have issued a statement however explaining that the Vine app will be closing down in the next few months and that just the Vine app will be going, not the Vine website.

“Since 2013, millions of people have turned to Vine to laugh at loops and see creativity unfold. Today, we are sharing the news that in the coming months we’ll be discontinuing the mobile app.”
