With the latest model coming with 3.0-litre V6 diesel engines that provide plenty of power and torque, the Amarok is capable of reaching 120mph and can get from 0-60mph in 7.9 seconds.

Available with premium features such as a touchscreen infotainment system and leather trim, the Amarok has a high-quality finish and is the recipient of the award that is only handed out every two to three years.

Eckhard Scholz, chairman of the board for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: "We are very grateful to have received the IPUA 2018 and feel honoured by the decision of the international expert jury.

“With the new Amarok, we've once again listened to what customers want and been able to achieve more power, more torque and also better capability for deployment on any terrain. This is more than just pure luxury and lifestyle.”
