Volkswagen and LG Electronics join forces

Volkswagen and LG Electronics to create new smart home and vehicle concepts for the future.

Volkswagen has announced that it will be collaborating with tech firm LG Electronics to create advanced, futuristic smart home and vehicle concepts.

The partnership will see both companies exploring their specialties in order to achieve their own vision of the future. Collaborations like this are becoming the commonplace nowadays, with the likes of BMW joining forces with Intel and MobileEye.

Volkswagen and LG has already mapped out what it plans to take on in the next few years, with projects including vehicle to smart home integration, allowing drivers to control in-home devices from their vehicles.

There will also be a big focus on in-car technology as the two companies aim to introduce their own in-car messaging system and a new all-in-one infotainment system.

It is clear to see why VW has sought a partnership with a big tech firm, as carmakers are continually trying to trump their respective rivals in the market. VW will now have more arsenal when it comes to technological advancements and innovation, and we may very well see some of LG’s magic applied to VW’s previously revealed electric BUDD-e microbus.
