Volkswagen has announced that buyers interested in Volkswagen’s flagship Touareg SUV can now get their hands on one for 48 hours as part of an extended test drive offer.
The firm’s largest SUV joins the electric e-Golf on the firm’s two-day test drive promotion, which has been available since June.
Volkswagen says this offer allows its customers more time to trial the brand’s technology-focused models, with interested parties able to pick up the car from their local VW garage and drop it off two days later. You will, of course, have to book this and express your interest beforehand.
Brian Luckie, Touareg product manager at Volkswagen UK, said: “The Touareg is a car that can rise to any challenge – it’s comfortable, capacious, capable, and quick. A 48-hour test drive allows customers to find all of this out for themselves, and to get to know all of the luxuries and technology that the Touareg has to offer.
“By giving customers the opportunity to live with a Touareg for two whole days, we’re hoping they will get to bond with our flagship car. We’re confident that once the 48 hours are over and the car is returned, customers will be convinced by its skillset.”
The latest Touareg has been on sale since the middle of 2018 and aims to be a showcase of tech for other VW models to follow. The range has been expanded since launch with a new 228bhp 3.0-litre diesel engine and a 345bhp 3.0-litre petrol engine, with these joining a 282bhp 3.0-litre diesel powerplant that has been offered from the offset.

It’s offered in three trim levels – SEL, R-Line and R-Line Tech, with prices starting from £49,135 and rising to £59,275.
