Volkswagen has released a sneak-peek of its I.D. Vizzion Concept ahead of the fully-autonomous car’s debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

The latest addition to Volkswagen’s all-electric I.D. family of cars will have no driver controls at all and the 111 kWh Lithium-ion battery setup would allow for a range of over 400 miles.

The Vizzion joins the standard I.D. hatchback, the Buzz campervan and Crozz coupe crossover, with this latest saloon model the first to be fully driverless.

Powered by two electric motors – one at the front and one at the rear – the Vizzion will have all-wheel drive and with the addition of braking energy regeneration, it will help recover power for the electric powertrain.

The spacious four-seat layout is not restricted by driving controls, allowing for a more comfortable travelling experience.

With a virtual host to guide the passengers through their journey, the occupants can control the infotainment system through voice commands and gesture controls.

The Vizzion is one of the 20+ all-electric models that Volkswagen plans to have on the road by 2025, with the I.D. hatchback the start of that trend.

The I.D. Vizzion will be officially be unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show on March 6.
