Volvo introduces new Polestar Performance Parts to market

There’s welcome news for Volvo drivers looking to upgrade or modify their cars, as the manufacturer has introduced a new range of official Polestar Performance Parts.

Engineered by Volvo’s sporting wing Polestar and similar to aftermarket performance parts offered by the likes of BMW M, the parts make use of more than 20 years of Volvo motorsport experience.

The specially-developed parts include chassis components, wheels, exhausts and add-ons for the exterior and interior, and will be available initially for the S60, V40, V60 and XC60 models.

Niels Möller, Polestar chief operating officer, said: “We have received strong feedback over a long period of time from customers all over the world regarding Polestar Performance Parts.

“We are delighted to be able to meet the demand, starting from today. This is a product improving on the already strong base of Volvo cars in terms of performance, handling and driving pleasure.”

The parts can be purchased either as a complete package, which can be used to fully upgrade a Volvo vehicle for a more performance-oriented drive, or bought separately for minor upgrades.

All Polestar Performance Parts have been developed and tested specifically on production Volvos in order to ensure perfect fit and finish, and also have no impact on the cars’ factory warranty.

Henrik Fries, Polestar’s R&D director, said: “Lessons learned on the tracks are transferred directly into the development of our road cars and performance products.

The new range of Polestar Performance Parts is no exception – they are designed and developed with the very same philosophy.”

Prices for the Polestar Performance Parts have yet to be announced, but Volvo says that they’ll be available to order from April, with parts for more Volvo cars to be released in due course.
