Volvo has revealed a new launch edition of the S60 to celebrate the model going on sale.
Called the R-Design Edition, this special version of the saloon comes with a high-end finish and grows on the equipment you would expect from the standard R-Design trim.
That means this iteration of the S60 comes with lowered sports suspension and diamond-cut 19-inch alloy wheels with black detailing to provide a more dynamic exterior look.
But inside is where you will find most of the upgrades, with Volvo fitting a driver’s head-up display, a heated steering wheel and a 600W Harman Kardon 14-speaker surround sound system – as well as heated sports seats upholstered in Nappa leather.
Other equipment on offer includes the Pilot Assist semi-autonomous system, blind-spot information, cross traffic alert and rear collision mitigation.See Available Volvo S60 Deals
From launch, the S60 will only be available with the T5 powertrain – a 2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 246bhp and is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Further powertrains will be offered with the S60 in due course.
Jon Wakefield, Volvo Car UK managing director, said: "The success of our mid-size vehicles, the multi-award-winning new V60 estate and XC60 SUV, has created an ideal platform on which to introduce the new S60.
“Focusing on our brand strengths of design, technology and safety, we are confident the S60 has the potential to perform strongly in what is traditionally a very competitive market segment."
Prices for the R-Design Edition start from £37,920 and will be delivered from May this year.
