More standard equipment

To make the base S model more appealing to start off with, Skoda has given it more equipment, such as LED daytime running lights, front assist braking system and a multifunction trip computer. These add to the DAB digital radio, start/stop system, electric front windows and electrically-adjustable heated door mirrors.

Only petrol engines available

Skoda has decided to remove the diesel engines used before the mid-life refresh and instead gone for an all-petrol line-up. All based on a 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit, Skoda offers it in three states of tune – 74bhp, 93bhp and 108bhp. All can be fitted with the standard six-speed manual, but the most powerful option can be paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission for an additional £1,000.

New safety features

As well as adaptive cruise control, rear view camera and driver fatigue assistant found on the previous version, the Fabia is now available with full LED headlights, blind spot detection and rear traffic – with the latter two coming in a £390 assistance pack.

Five trims to choose from

With customers able to select either the hatch or estate model, they then have the choice of the S, SE, SE L, Monte Carlo and Colour Edition to get the Fabia they are after. Top-spec Monte Carlo models come with the best equipment, such as the Amundsen infotainment system and climate control, as well as a black exterior styling pack.
