Up until the reveal of the X7, the X5 had been the largest offering in the BMW line-up and last year saw the popular SUV receive a makeover for its fourth-generation.

Room for seven
Although the standard layout for the X5 is for five, customers can add a third row of seats that fold down into the boot floor. Legroom for the rearmost seats can also be adjusted by electric controls in the boot that move the second row of chairs forward – with controls also fitted to fold both the rear rows down.
Plenty of space
The large SUV comes with an impressive amount of room that offers lots of practicality. With the standard five-seat layout, customers have 650 litres to use – and if needed, the storage room can be extended up to 1,870 litres when folding the 40:20:40 split rear seats down. If the Comfort Access pack is fitted, the split boot can be opened and closed both electronically and hands-free – making opening the rear easier.

Good equipment options
To keep your family entertained, customers can fit the Rear-seat entertainment Professional system which adds a pair of 10.2-inch HD touchscreen displays alongside a Blu-ray player, USB ports, HDMI slot and two headphone jacks – with rear passengers able to access the navigation map and BMW ConnectedDrive services on the rear screens, as well as services off their own devices.
Comfortable ride
If you want a good family car, it needs to be accommodating for all journeys. So with the adaptive air suspension fitted as standard, passengers will find that both long and short journeys will be very comfortable – as all the bumps and ruts in the road are soaked up.
