Following Tesla’s surprise reveal of its Roadster, Taiwan’s Xing Mobility has taken the covers off its own all-electric performance vehicle.
Called the Miss R, it has a quoted 1,323bhp at its disposal – meaning the sprint to 60mph is 1.7 seconds with an estimated top speed of over 170mph. That may not be as fast as the 250mph+ Tesla Roadster, but Xing is aiming the Miss R at a different market.
This new model is built to be good on the road and off it, with Xing saying it is “rally-inspired” and it will be the world’s first all-electric supercar with “on-road and off-road capabilities.”
Co-founder and CEO of Xing Mobility, Royce YC Hong, said: “Miss R is the embodiment of the paradigm shift of EVs surpassing traditional combustion-engine cars in both performance and capability.
“The core idea behind the prototype is to achieve game-changing performance levels and driving experiences that are otherwise impossible to achieve in a gasoline-powered vehicle.”
This initial prototype has a special cooling system that keeps the stacked batteries cool, as Xing immerses the stacks in a non-flammable, non-toxic and non-conductive fluid to ensure the best performance of the cells possible.
20 units of the Miss R will be sold for upwards of £750,000 when the model is fully developed in 2019.
