MG has added the ZS to its line-up of vehicles available on the Motability scheme, which allows eligible drivers the opportunity to lease vehicles for a reduced price.

The ZS joins the 3 supermini and GS SUV as part of the MG Motability selection.

The Motability scheme helps people with disabilities or war pensioners afford cars on low monthly payments and MG is now offering the ZS Excite and Exclusive models from as little as £48.50 per month.

Customers on the disability living allowance and personal independence payment can pay as little as £45 for an initial payment on a ZS 1.5-litre Excite model, with monthly rental costs of £58 – the full allowance allowed by the scheme.

Drivers classed under the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement don’t need to make an advanced payment and can pay as little as £59.77 per month for a ZS.

To be eligible for Motability vehicles, people need to present their letter of entitlement to an MG dealer along with a valid license and proof of address.

The ZS is available with the mid- and top-level specs as well as both manual and automatic transmissions through Motability, and standard equipment on both includes an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DAB radio, Bluetooth hands-free, Apple CarPlay, cruise control and air conditioning, while a rear reversing camera is fitted on top-end Exclusive models.

Harvey France, a spokesperson for MG Motor UK, said: “Over two-thirds of the dealerships in the MG network have a Motability-trained specialist as part of their team.

“They are on hand to provide expert advice to customers and we are actively supporting other dealerships to install a trained member of staff. We strongly believe in Motability, and it is a great initiative that we are proud to be a part of.”
