Best Black Edition cars

We highlight our favourite new special edition cars which are called Black Edition or similar.

In recent years, a lot of manufacturers have looked to expand the appeal of existing models by adding to them a special edition usually revolving around a particular colour.

These colour editions have proven a hit and many brands specifically like to offer a Black Edition. Such models will not only predominantly use this colour, they’ll also come with some unique styling touches and may even have enhanced performance, making them desirable to car buyers who like having something with a more exclusive vibe.

Do any of these Black Edition cars stand out? Here’s a selection of our favourite Black Edition cars which you can buy new right now.

Porsche 911 Black Edition

The Porsche 911 Black Edition hardly needs any introduction. It is one of the most famous and enjoyable sports cars in the world and there are many, many different specifications of this car which currently exist.

One of the more unique versions of the 911 available is the Black Edition. It’s available for the standard 911 and the all-wheel drive Carrera 4 in coupe and cabriolet bodystyles. As well as a stealthily black paint job, the 911 Black Editions have plentiful exterior and interior kit and a 345bhp 3.4-litre petrol engine.

Audi A3 Black Edition

Audi offers Black Editions for many of its models including the A3 in three-door hatch, five-door Sportback or saloon forms. Unlike with some other Black Edition cars, Audi’s do not have to be finished predominantly in black if the customer prefers.

The A3 Black Edition represents a step up from the S-Line trim and comes with the likes of privacy glass, a black-detailed grille and a ten-speaker sound system.

Ford Fiesta ST-Line Black Edition

Ford offer several colour-themed special editions including this rather striking Black Edition which has some contrasting red-painted details.

Far from just having interesting new cosmetics, the ST-Line Black Edition is the most powerful Fiesta you can buy outside of the ST hot hatch. The ST-Line Black Edition (and Red Edition) comes with a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, which is available on other Fiestas, but here it boasts 138bhp.

Nissan Qashqai Black Edition

The Nissan Qashqai is a very dependable, high quality family car which can offer a very user-friendly cabin and cheap to run engines. If you’ve thought about getting the Qashqai but think it could do with a bit more personality, then you could consider the Black Edition.

As well as sporting a dark and cool look, the Qashqai Black Edition is a premium-feeling family car with more equipment than any other trim levels. Highlights of the standard kit include a panoramic glass roof and 19-inch black alloy wheels.

Smart ForTwo Edition Black

If the idea of owning a new Black Edition car appeals to you but options seem beyond your budget, perhaps you could consider the compact Smart ForTwo city car.

The ForTwo Edition Black is priced from just over £12k and comes with unique trim details including black alloy wheels, a chrome tailpipe, wider wheel arches and a leather steering wheel. There’s some decent standard kit in the cabin too like sat-nav.
