Vauxhall has recently introduced the Grandland X to its line-up and the SUV comes with many features that help to make it a great family car for those on a budget.

What engines are available?
Customers can choose from one of three turbocharged engines – a 1.2-litre petrol that produces 128bhp, a 118bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine and a diesel 2.0-litre that makes 175bhp – that can both be paired to either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The top-spec diesel can only come with the eight-speed auto and is available on Tech Line Nav models and upwards. All of the engines on offer can achieve over 50mpg, so running costs will be kept in check whichever unit you go for.
How many trim levels are there?
Vauxhall currently offers the mid-size SUV in six trim levels – SE, Design Line, Tech Line Nav, Sport Nav, Elite Nav and Ultimate – and with the entry-level option, models come with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, climate control, Bluetooth, LED daytime running lights, rear parking sensors and cruise control with speed adaption.
You even get lane departure warning and speed limit recognition with the SE model, while higher trims come with more advanced safety technology, improved design options and larger infotainment screens – all of which enhance the Grandland X’s great standard spec even further.

As mentioned above, the Grandland X can be fitted with a wide array of safety features, but additional safety packs can improve the spec completely. Extra safety kit includes lane assist that works alongside lane departure warning, side blind spot alert, speed sign recognition and high beam assist, as well as driver drowsiness alert and forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection. All of these help to make the Grandland X a very safe vehicle.
How much customisation is there?
With nine exterior colours to choose from and the option to add a black contrasting roof, customers are able to make their Grandland X stand out from the crowd. Silver roof rails and multiple alloy options give buyers scope to personalise their model further, while interior trim options range from black cloth to perforated leather sports seats.
How much is it?
Starting from £23,130 for the base SE model, the Grandland X range is very well priced compared to its rivals. It can top out at £34,280 for the Ultimate model, but that version comes with pretty much everything you can add to the Grandland X and is a showcase of how good the car can be.
