Ford commercial range: What’s available?

Ford has one of the most extensive commercial vehicle line-ups around

When it comes to the commercial world, few manufacturers are as prominent as Ford.

This manufacturer’s vans and trucks have been instrumental to businesses up and down the country for decades, and that continues to be the case today, with Ford’s range of models outselling other manufacturers.

But if you’re looking for a Ford commercial vehicle, what’s on offer? Let’s take a look…

Fiesta Van – from £16,600

If you want a van that you can still enjoy to drive, you should take a look at the Fiesta Van. Closely tied to the regular hatchback model, the Fiesta Van is the least commercial-like model you can buy today, and also looks the part as well.

It’s not the most spacious van around, but could still be useful, depending on your needs.

Transit Courier – from £13,045

Ford’s most affordable van is the Transit Courier – a compact van ideal for maximising practicality for when space is at a premium.

As the Courier also features underpinnings from Ford car models, it’s another van that’s rather good to drive, while has a higher-quality interior than you might expect. An efficient range of petrol and diesel engines also adds to the appeal.

Transit Connect – from £16,575

If you fancy something a little more practical, but with still relatively compact dimensions, you should take a look at the Transit Connect. A choice of wheelbases are available, and each will prove practical and versatile, dependent on your needs.

It’s another van that’s good to drive, while the option of a ‘Sport’ model brings extra flair to this surprisingly stylish looking commercial vehicle.

Transit Custom – from £23,090

The UK’s most popular van by some margin is the Transit Connect, and with its technology, practicality and high-quality interior, it’s easy to see why.

Yet again, the Transit Custom will be far more pleasant to drive than the majority of its competitors, while the option to have a new plug-in hybrid model is another big selling point here. With the model offering a 35-mile electric range, it should mean most urban journeys can be carried out without having to use the engine.

Transit – from £26,725

The biggest of the lot is the standard Transit – a model designed with functionality and practicality at its core. There’s a multitude of derivatives available to suit most large van buyers, while the recent introduction of a higher-quality interior and mild-hybrid powertrains have added to the appeal.

Ford has also recently announced new rugged ‘Trail’ models for extra ability away from tarmac, along with a five-tonne Transit model, which is the most capable Ford van ever produced.

Ranger – from £21,545

Also slotting in underneath Ford’s commercial vehicle umbrella is the Ranger pick-up – another model that’s the best-selling vehicle in its segment. With the Ranger’s impressive off-road capability, enjoyable driving experience and bold styling, it’s also quite easy to see the appeal.

Should you fancy something even more rugged, you can also choose the Raptor model – a heavily revised pick-up that features a bespoke suspension setup and Ford Performance involvement to make it one of the most capable off-roaders you can buy today.
