2018 Kia Ceed pricing confirmed

The latest version of the hatchback will go on sale from August 1 and prices will start from £18,295.

Following the model’s reveal earlier this year, Kia has unveiled the full pricing and specification of the upcoming Ceed.

The South Korean hatchback is now entering its third generation and comes with the most advanced technology fitted to any model from the manufacturer.

It arrives with a new range of efficient powertrains, including a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, a new 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel unit, which can all be paired to a six-speed manual transmission. A seven-speed automatic option is also available to the 1.4-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel.

A mild-hybrid version is expected to be introduced at some point in 2019.

Although the wheelbase has stayed the same compared to the last generation, the new model is larger than before and also sits lower to the road, and the Sportswagon estate version comes with more boot space – 97 litres more in fact – meaning it has 625 litres in the rear.

The interior includes plenty of new tech, such as a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and smartphone integration, and optional extras like a JBL sound system, a heated windshield and a wireless smartphone charger.

To keep drivers safe on the road, the Ceed also comes with lane following assist – a first for a Kia model – as well as lane keeping assist, driver attention warning and forward collision avoidance assist – with customers also able to spec smart cruise control, blind spot collision warning and smart parking assist.

Prices for the new Kia Ceed start from £18,295, with the model going on sale from August 1. Deliveries will begin in due course.
