5 Things you didn't know about your Range Rover

We take a look at Land Rover’s most premium option and look at some of its less well-known features that you can access.

To many, the Range Rover is the ultimate luxury SUV and is available with some of the highest quality features found on any car.

There are many things you can add to your Range Rover model that you won’t be able to find in many other models on the market, so we take a look at some of the lesser known fixtures that can help you make the ultimate Range Rover.

Private plane-like seating

If you want rear passengers to sit in complete comfort, customers can opt for Executive Class seats which resemble those that you would find in business class on a plane or those on a private jet. Coming with hot stone massaging, footrests, multiple adjustment options and even heated armrests, it is impossible to find seats more comfortable on the car market than these. You can also spec them in a series of upholstery finishes. It is a pricey option, but one worth fitting.

Gesture-controlled sunblind

If you want to keep your eyes on the road ahead but like having extra light flooding into the cabin, you can choose to spec the sunblind with gesture controls. With just a wave of your hand, you can send the blind back and let light come in through the glass roof. As standard, when you leave the car and lock it, the sunblind will move back automatically, which helps reduce the strain on air conditioning and stops the cabin overheating.

Expansive speaker systems

As standard, the Meridian 12-speaker setup would usually be enough for anyone to have in their vehicle – but Land Rover offers two further options that enhance your media experience while in the Range Rover. The Surround Sound option adds six further speakers that enhance the listening experience, while the top-end Signature Sound version features 29 speakers in total, including units installed under the seats, in the boot and in the seat head rests.

Pre-heat the cabin

If it’s a cold day outside, you might want your car to be warm when you get to it. Well, the Range Rover can do just that. As part of the Cold Climate Pack, the Remote Park Heat with Timed Climate feature allows the driver to set a temperature for the car to be at when they get it and can have a set schedule for the cabin’s interior climate as well. Using the four-zone climate control, the Range Rover can be cooled or heated as the driver sees fit.

It lowers itself to go faster

To help you get up to motorway speeds and be more stable when you get there, the Range Rover drops the ride height of its electronic air suspension by 15mm when it reaches 65mph to reduce drag and help improve fuel consumption. That helps make for a smoother driving experience at higher speeds – even in a car as large as the Range Rover.
