Abarth has unveiled the 695 70th Anniversario – a limited-edition model produced to celebrate the Italian marque’s 70thbirthday.

The 695 70th Annivesario is limited to just 1,949 units, and features a host of alterations to separate it from the regular 695.

One of its key features is a manually-adjustable spoiler – called the ‘Spoiler ad Assetto Variabile’. It harks back to old race cars, and can be adjusted into 12 different positions up to a 60-degree angle. This helps to deliver improved stability at higher speeds.

On the outside the 695 is available in the ‘Monza 1958 green’ livery that sees a sage-like green paintwork combined with a grey wheelarch surrounds.  It also comes with scorpion details on the bonnet and a chequered sticker on the roof.

Elsewhere the 70th Anniversario comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, red Brembo brake callipers, a raucous ‘Record Monza’ exhaust, a limited-slip differential and Xenon headlights. On the cabin, the 695 gets unique seatbelts and a numbered plaque.

Powering the 695 70th Anniversario is Abarth’s well known 177bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which allows the car to accelerate from 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 139mph.

Order books for the new limited-edition hot hatch will open later in October, with prices starting from £26,695.
