Audi RS5 and RS5 Sportback revealed

The latest model receives a revised look and a larger touchscreen display.

Audi has unveiled the updated version of its high-performance RS5.

Available in Coupe or five-door Sportback guise, the updated RS5 benefits from all the changes that the A5 received earlier this year. The highlights of these include a larger Singleframe front grille, as well as new air vents between the bonnet and bumper that are inspired by Audi’s original Audi Sport Quattro.

New Matrix LED headlights are now fitted as standard, too, while flagship Vorsprung models benefit from laser headlights.

Revised side sills also feature, as does a new rear diffuser. Two new colours are also available – Turbo Blue and Tango Red. The Coupe model can also now be specified with a carbon roof, which gives it a unique look, and also brings with it a slight weight saving.

On the inside the key difference is a new 10.1-inch touchscreen, which is lifted from the latest A4 and RS4. It replaces a smaller unit that was controlled using a rotary dial on the centre console. A large 12.3-inch digital RS Virtual Cockpit aims to add to this digitalised driving experience.

The characterful 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine remains – producing 444bhp and 600Nm of torque, which enables a 0-60mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 155mph, though this can be increased to 174mph.

Three trim levels are offered – the regular RS5, as well as a Carbon Black version and a top-spec Vorsprung model.
