Audi has unveiled a revised version of its popular Q2 crossover, which comes with an updated design, additional connectivity and driver assistance tech.
The Q2 arrived in 2016 as the firm’s baby crossover, and with Audi’s ever-changing range, it’s already the oldest model in the line-up. So for 2020 it’s been given a comprehensive update.
Design changes are relatively discrete, but all versions now come with LED headlights as standard, with top-spec Vorsprung models featuring more advanced Matrix LEDs for the first time, which can filter the light around oncoming traffic.
The grille has also been updated and lowered to give the Q2 a wider look, and – as with new Audis like the A1 and A4 – there is also a narrow gap between the grille and bonnet line as a cue to past models from the firm.
More simple design changes include the introduction of new alloy wheel designs and extra colours – such as a new Apple Green, Manhattan Grey and Turbo Blue, to name but a few.
Five grades are offered on the Q2, including Technik, Sport, S line Black Edition and Vorsprung, with all versions featuring rear parking sensors, cruise control and an electric boot.
All but entry-level Tecknik versions come with a 12.3-inch digital dial system as standard, though the 8.3-inch media system remains the same in terms of look. That said, it’s been updated with new connected services, such as Google Earth navigation, emergency call and remote services in partnership with the myAudi app.
Top-spec Vorsprung trim levels also now benefit from adaptive cruise control, along with park assist, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.
At launch the Q2 comes with a 148bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine, but further petrol and diesel engines will be available shortly after.
The updated Audi Q2 will be available from October, with prices starting from £23,500 – broadly similar to the outgoing version. First deliveries are expected before the end of the year.
