BMW teases new 4 Series Coupe ahead of full unveiling next week

The 3 Series-based model is set to receive a much bolder look

BMW has revealed a further teaser image of its new 4 Series Coupe ahead of its full unveiling next month.

While BMW has previously shown the model in prototype form while testing, this is our first look at how the new two-door model looks without camouflage.

Perhaps most noticeable is its huge and imposing front grille, which is likely to prove a point of contention to customers, though it will undoubtedly make it stand out from the crowd. The model pictured also features titanium-coloured accents – likely pointing towards the fact it’s an ‘M Performance’ model.

It also adopts a similar LED light signature to BMW’s flagship 8 Series coupe.

Diesels and petrol variants are set to be available, with an M440i version at the top of the line-up, which will feature a 369bhp 3.0-litre petrol unit, along with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to aid both performance and efficiency.

While essentially a two-door version of the 3 Series Saloon, BMW is promising that the new 4 Series is more bespoke than ever before, as well as being more enjoyable to drive than the outgoing generation.

The new 4 Series Coupe will be unveiled next Tuesday (June 2) in Coupe form and will likely arrive in showrooms in the autumn. A Convertible and four-door Gran Coupe variant will also follow in due course.
