Citroen celebrates century anniversary with special editions

The C3 and C4 Cactus ‘Origins’ Editions are the first of four special models to commemorate the brand’s centenary.

To celebrate its 100thanniversary, Citroen has unveiled four ‘Origins’ Collector’s Edition versions of its current models – with two available to order now.

The C1, C3, C3 Aircross and C4 Cactus will all be offered in this commemorative guise throughout 2019, with the French brand starting off with the C3 and C4 Cactus.

All of the special units come with bronze coloured highlights to contrast the different body colours that hark back to the original badge used on the 10HP Type A from 1919.

The C3 ‘Origins’ comes with a choice of Polar White, Platinum Grey, Cumulus Grey or Perla Nera Black body colours, as well as a black roof and 17-inch alloys, bronze detailing, ‘Origins’ decals, Hetaher Grey and black upholstery, and a soft-touch dashboard with bronze touches.

It is based on the C3’s Feel trim and also features reversing sensors, a seven-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and the Safety Pack with active safety brake, driver attention alert and collision risk assist. Customers can also choose from two petrol engines – the PureTech 82 with a manual transmission, or the PureTech 110 with a six-speed automatic.

For the C4 Cactus ‘Origins’, Citroen has done much of the same – with the main difference the Advanced Comfort seats found in the compact crossover getting the same upholstery design.

The Cactus is only available with the PureTech 110 engine and a six-speed manual.

Prices for the C3 ‘Origins’ starts from £16,585, while the C4 Cactus version costs £20,215. Both are available to order, with production beginning in February. Order books for the C1 and C3 Aircross versions will open in March.
