Epic Mercedes AMG GT Roadster Revealed

It’s been a long time coming, but Mercedes has finally released images of its new Mercedes GT Roadster and GT C Roadster – the much anticipated convertible versions of the existing AMG GT coupe.

Mercedes AMG GT Roadster and AMG GT C Roadster

You heard us right, two different models. Much like the hardtop version, there will be a standard 469bhp GT Roadster, capable of burning zero to 62mph in just four seconds, and a more menacing GT C Roadster, producing 549bhp and completing the same sprint 0.3 seconds faster.

The GT C Roadster also boasts a whopping top speed of 196mph and pulls like a beast thanks to 680Nm of torque.

Mercedes AMG GT C Roadster gets rear-wheel steering

Although tuning is slightly different in the two models, both utilise a twin turbocharged, direct injection 4.0-litre V8 petrol.

Much of the performance-enhancing equipment from the coupe model is carried over to the soft-top, although the more monstrous GT C Roadster gets a few more treats. These include an electronic differential, a rear-wheel steering system, wider rear track and rear wheels and an AMG performance exhaust.

Open top driving in 11 seconds

When it comes to wind in the hair driving, both Roadsters offer a fabric roof that can be folded down in around 11 seconds at speeds of up to 32mph.

Both the Mercedes GT Roadster and Mercedes GT C Roadster will make their public debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show later this month.
