Exclusive BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition unveiled

Just 10 examples of BMW’s flagship SUV special edition will come to the UK

BMW has unveiled the first special edition of its flagship X7 – the Dark Shadow Edition.

Just 500 are being produced globally, and only 10 of those will come to the UK, with special touches including a bespoke paint colour and exclusive interior features.

Offered exclusively with the current range-topping engine of the X7 – the M50i, which uses a 523bhp 4.4-litre V8 – the Dark Shadow Edition is painted in a special satin grey colour known as ‘BMW Individual Frozen Arctic Grey’. It’s the first time the shade has appeared on an SUV from the firm.

It also comes with matt black 22-inch alloy wheels and a gloss black styling packages, which sees the grille, roof rails and tailpipes painted in a gloss black finish.

The changes continue to the cabin, too, with special edition versions featuring a bespoke blue and black leather upholstery, along with a blue instrument panel and dark blue Alcantara headlining.

The Dark Shadow Edition also comes with additional kit on top of the regular X7 – including sun protection glass, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, massaging front seats and a head-up display and rear TV screens.

There’s no word on pricing yet, but expect a figure exceeding £100,000 – given the regular X7 M50i has a starting price of £92,975.

Production of the new special edition is set to start next month, with interested customers being able to register their interest with a BMW dealer now.
