Feast your eyes on the newly facelifted Suzuki S-Cross

The Suzuki S-Cross has been given a significant facelift three years after first going on sale as Suzuki’s first C-segment crossover, with new looks, new engines and more equipment than ever before.

Due to go on sale mid-October, the new-look S-Cross now features more distinctive, bolder styling with a large central grille, a slightly raised ride height and new headlamps.

The refresh continues on the inside, where the car gets a new interior design with soft-touch materials and new seat fabrics, plus room for five people and one of the biggest boots in its class.

Three trims are available, with the base SZ4 model getting a wide range of kit as standard, like cruise control, daytime running lights and DAB radio, plus air con and heated door mirrors.

Opting for the mid-spec SZ-T option adds full LED lights and sat-nav, along with polished 17-inch alloys, a rear parking camera with parking sensors, dual-zone climate control and front fog lamps.

Finally, the range-topping SZ5 adds modern touches like semi-autonomous emergency braking and leather seat upholstery, plus heated front seats and a double sliding panoramic sunroof.

New Boosterjet engines

The new S-Cross comes with a choice of three engines, including two of Suzuki’s acclaimed Boosterjet petrol, which were first introduced on the Vitara and the new Baleno.

Buyers can choose between the 109bhp 1.0-litre Boosterjet or the larger and more powerful 138bhp 1.4-litre version, while a single 1.6-litre diesel engine is also available with 118bhp.

Suzuki says that all engines offer highly competitive fuel consumption and emissions figures, with the diesel reportedly able to return up to 68.8mpg on the combined cycle.

CO2 emissions clock in at just 119g/km for the 1.0-litre Boosterjet or 127g/km for the larger 1.4-litre, while the diesel emits 114g/km, even when equipped with optional ALLGRIP four-wheel drive.

Full pricing, specifications and performance figures have yet to be announced, but the facelifted Suzuki S-Cross is due to go on sale in the UK from October, priced from £14,999.
