Ford announces updated GT supercar for 2020

The flagship model now features a titanium exhaust system and new colour options.

Ford has announced a series of model year updates for its flagship GT supercar.

The technological masterclass has proven to be one of the most exclusive supercars around since bring introduced in 2017, and has been enhanced for 2020 with both performance and styling upgrades.

The new GT’s power output has been increased by 13bhp to 651bhp thanks to revised engine calibration and mechanical upgrades from the track-only GT.

Changes have also been made to offer improved cooling, while suspension tweaks have been made for owners choosing to take their cars on track. Ford has also fitted a new titanium Akrapovic sports exhaust, which the firm says helps to make the most of the sound of the 3.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine.

There are also a few styling changes on offer, too, including a new Liquid Carbon finish, which offers a unique carbon-fibre weave. This limited-edition version also features carbon-fibre wheels, as well as various interior combinations.

Lucky buyers can also benefit from an updated line-up of heritage liveries, with new options including a blue and orange scheme with black pinstriping.

Ford says that deliveries of the upgraded 2020 Ford GT are ongoing, with models continuing to be produced until 2022.
