Ford’s new Puma crossover is joining the AA Driving School’s fleet as the two firms continue their partnership.
Ford has provided cars to the UK’s leading driving school consistently for 22 years, and currently the AA has Fiesta Active and Focus ST-Line models on its fleet. However, the new Puma, which arrived on sale at the beginning of 2020, has now been ordered for learner drivers.
Models chosen are in Titanium grade, which come as standard with massaging front seats, an eight-inch touchscreen and wireless smartphone charging.
They’ll also arrive with Ford’s mild-hybrid EcoBoost powertrain, which electrifies a 123bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine to enhance performance and efficiency. It will also be the first time a mild-hybrid car has been used by the fleet.
Sarah Rees, managing director of AA Driving School, said: “We’re really excited to bring the Ford Puma to our mix of cars and feel, combined with our new franchise pricing, we’re more competitive, flexible and better value than ever.”
“Whether instructors want a mild hybrid, a more spacious tuition vehicle or a smaller city car, they can find it here wrapped up with everything else needed to run a successful business.”
Stephen Gafson, Ford’s direct sales business manager, described the agreement as a “win win”.
He said: “We know it will be popular with the instructors, who get to choose their own vehicles, and we are expecting that their pupils will enjoy the Puma experience also. Many novices choose the model they learned to drive in as first cars, so it’s win-win for Ford.”
The Ford Puma is available to buy and test drive now, with price starting from £21,640.
