Ford releases details of Focus RS Edition

This update to the Focus RS offers new features and an improved driver experience

The Ford Focus RS is one of the best affordable cars for driving enthusiasts and now Ford is adding new features to make it even better.

Called the Focus RS Edition, Ford’s Performance department has added a limited slip differential to the front end of the chassis, which allows for better traction and stability in slippery conditions while also improving the handling.

This means that drivers will be able to take full advantage of the 345bhp produced by the 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine in most conditions, especially on the track.

The Focus RS Edition keeps the great driving features that help you get the most out of the car, including the all-wheel-drive system, dynamic torque vectoring – which distributes the power across the rear axle – and torque vectoring control that limits wheelspin from the front wheels.

Ford Performance’s Europe director Leo Roeks said: “Our new Focus RS Edition represents accessible performance at its finest. Improving on the class-leading driving dynamics of the Focus RS was no small task – but our Ford Performance engineers have delivered a drivetrain capable of wringing every drop of performance from the 350PS EcoBoost engine.”

The exterior design has also been altered with Ford adding a matte black roof and wing mirror covers, black 19-inch alloy wheels and carbon fibre interior trim to complement the Nitrous Blue body colour. Units also come with privacy glass, rear parking sensors, cruise control with speed limiter and Active City Stop emergency braking system.

Prices for the Focus RS Edition start from £35,795 and are available to order now.
