It’s official! Here’s your first look at the all-new 2017 Alpine A110

After what’s felt like an age, Alpine has finally lifted the covers off its first car in more than 20 years and also confirmed its name: the A110.

Alpine is still keeping schtum on the exact specifications of the car, but it says that the new A110 will be unveiled in full on March 7th at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

What we do know is that the car is built almost entirely out of aluminium to make it as light and as agile as possible, in keeping with Alpine’s historical principles of compact size and lightness of weight.

The original Alpine cars were world-renowned for their incredible lightness, razor-sharp handling and their various motorsport successes in the world of circuit racing and, in particular, rallying.

In fact, it was the Alpine A110 Berlinette, which has inspired both the name and appearance of its modern successor, which won the first-ever World Rally Championship back in 1973.

However, Alpine folded in 1995 and its fate has hung in the balance since, with a joint project between Renault and Caterham mooted to revitalise the brand before Renault bought Caterham’s stake in the company.

Renault has since announced that it’s committed to revitalising an entire range of Alpine-branded models, which will range from dedicated sports cars to more everyday vehicles.

Customers can already secure their car with a £1,700 deposit via an app accessible on Alpine’s website, and starting prices for the new A110 are estimated to begin from around £46,000 in the UK.

Full pricing and specifications for the new Alpine A110 are expected to be unveiled alongside the car at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
