James Bond’s Aston Martin DB10 sold for £2.4 million

An Aston Martin DB10 model used for the James Bond 007 film Spectre has been sold at a London-based auction for £2,434,500.

The car just sold is one of the only two “show cars” from the ten DB10s made especially for the film.

DB10 facts

Prior to the start of the auction, the DB10 had a reserve price of £1 million. The auction was held at Christie’s on London King Street and saw numerous props from the film Spectre get sold.

The DB10 was made at Aston Martin’s HQ in Gaydon, Warwickshire and built specifically for the most recent James Bond film. It uses a 4.7-litre V8 petrol engine which allows the DB10 to go from zero to 60mph in just 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 190mph.

While most of the DB10 models built by Aston Martin were heavily modified for use in the filming of Spectre, the example sold at auction was left unmodified for display purposes.

The auctioned car was also signed by Daniel Craig, who played Bond in Spectre and the three prior 007 films.

No more to be sold

According to online reports, this is the only example of the DB10 that will ever go to auction. So any 007 or Aston Martin fans still hoping to own this rare and special motor have already missed their chance.

If it’s any consolation though, the DB10 just auctioned cannot actually be driven on public roads. It’s also unlikely that the winning bidder for the DB10 will have access to the same in-car gadgets which Bond had, so things like a concealed flamethrower and ejector seat are out of the picture too.
