Last month, we saw a similar vehicle go up for auction and this sparked a media frenzy which (wrongly) reported the car as Clarkson’s infamously faulty Ford GT. However, this theory was quickly debunked - the car had only 60 miles on the clock and considering Jeremy drove the car to the South of France in a Top Gear episode, the mileage didn’t add up.

However, Jeremy’s original 2005 Ford GT has officially hit the market courtesy of Ford specialists GT101. Gracefully stored in their collection, the car is reported to have 24,090 miles on the clock – a more realistic figure considering the car travelled all the way to France.

During his time on the show, Clarkson repeatedly complained about his GT claiming the car suffered a number of electrical faults including an unreliable alarm that would spontaneously go off during the night.

After a short and irritating affair, Clarkson decided to give the car back to Ford who then sold it to a second owner.

Aesthetically the car has been well maintained and the paint work is all but pristine, however some mechanical modifications have been made including the addition of an adjustable suspension set-up and sports exhaust.

This Ford GT’s price of £265,000 is relatively speaking an extremely reasonable price considering the car’s heritage. Jezza may even come in with a bid himself (if he’s feeling a bit nostalgic).
