Mercedes-Benz has announced the pricing and specification for the latest iteration of the CLA.

Now in its second generation, the compact coupe will start from £30,550 and is offered with four petrol power units – with two diesel options to arrive later this year.

The 180 and 200 units are derived from a 1.3-litre unit, with each developing 134bhp and 160bhp respectively – while the 220 petrol is a 2.0-litre engine that develops 187bhp and can be paired to either front- or all-wheel drive.

The current top-end 250 petrol is also based on a 2.0-litre unit and produces 221bhp.

All units are released alongside a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission – with manual transmission options to be released in due course.

For the entry-level AMG Line trim, the CLA is fitted with the MBUX infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and seven-inch instrument display, satellite navigation, LED headlights, two-zone automatic climate control, smartphone integration, heated seats, leather upholstery, parking assistance and wireless charging.
