MG offers £750 off the price of an electric MG with just a test drive

The brand is encouraging more to get behind the wheel of one of its plug-in models

MG is incentivising customers to test drive its electric and plug-in hybrid models by offering a £750 discount to anyone who gets behind the wheel of one of its electrified cars.

The brand now offers three plug-in models – the electric MG5 estate and ZS EV crossover models, along with the HS PHEV for those that want to combine electric driving with a regular engine.

Between this trio of models, they’ve accounted for nearly a third of MG’s sales so far in 2021, and throughout June anyone who test drives one of these cars will get a £750 voucher when ordering a new MG before June 30.

The firm says this offer is as well as any other promotions, including the government’s £2,500 plug-in car grant – which both the MG5 and ZS EV are eligible for – and zero per cent APR.

MG’s commercial director, Guy Pigounakis, said: “MG’s mission is to make EV motoring accessible for everyone as we head towards 2030. Customer acceptance and demand for EVs has grown as battery range has gone up and cost has come down, and we are proud that MG has become the go-to brand for affordable electric cars.

“Our recent sales results show that MG’s commitment to making EVs affordable for everyone is resonating with the car-buying public and to help make EVs as affordable as possible for everyone, anyone who takes a test drive in one of our electric or plug-in models in June will get a further incentive in the form of a £750 thank you.”

All MGs are backed by a seven-year warranty, with the MG5 and ZS EV available from £25,095 and £26,095 respectively, including the grant. The plug-in hybrid HS is on sale from £30,095.
