Mini joins forces with Longleat safari park

Brand’s Countryman PHEV models will be used across the site

Mini has teamed up with Longleat safari park as the brand continues its animal-based partnerships.

The British firm recently teamed up with Dogs Trust to enable safer travelling of pets in its cars, and the brand is now working with the large Wiltshire animal park.

To celebrate the brand’s partnership, families attending Longleat up until August 31 will be able to go on a special adventure in one of Mini’s Countryman Plug-in Hybrids (PHEVs), while also raising money for wildlife charity Tusk.

Following this, these Countryman PHEVs will be used by the staff’s team to carry out duties around the park, such as maintenance, veterinary runs and feeding the animals. Mini says this crossover’s 26-mile electric range will help to make their ‘on-site movements around the estate more sustainable’.

Shaun Steel, commercial director at Longleat, said: “As the first Safari Park created outside of Africa, Longleat has always led the way in creating magical animal encounters for families, with conservation and animal welfare also key in our values. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Mini, a brand that’s synonymous with adventure and bringing a smile to people’s faces.

“The new fleet of Mini Countryman Plug-In Hybrids are important for our on-site work with the animals and off-site educational outreach, as well as fitting-in with our sustainability ambitions; they are the perfect addition to our pack!”
