After teasing the outline of the new Santa Fe last week, Hyundai has shown off the first impressions of the full vehicle in new renderings.

The large SUV combines the new elements of Hyundai’s design language and chunky styling to make a modern-looking model.

Although this is not the finished article, it is likely that the production model will look very similar to this and is a promising step forward for the South Korean brand.

The grille, for example, is very similar to that on the Kona compact crossover as it has two major elements that emphasise the size of the front end.

With defined lines all around, the Santa Fe has chiselled detailing on the back end, with the dual rear lights, dual exhaust mufflers and large bumper giving a more rugged look for the SUV.

As the fourth generation of the large seven-seater, the new Santa Fe is – on first impressions – the smartest-looking yet and will combine some of the latest autonomous technology, such as rear cross-traffic collision warning and the industry-first rear occupant warning.

Launched in 2001, the Santa Fe has been one of Hyundai’s most popular models throughout Europe.
